AR3 putting together clues for a 'substantial' REE target
Australian Rare Earths (ASX: AR3) has intersected 130m of carbonatite in hole OV176, 5km from its original Overland discovery in South Australia, with the hole ending in carbonatite at 201m. Assays are pending, but early readings point to elevated niobium and barium, and Managing Director Travis Beinke says magnetics suggest a potentially large system along a 10km corridor.
The article notes carbonatites host some of the world's largest rare earth deposits, and that Overland was discovered by accident while drilling for uranium. AR3's main focus remains its Koppamurra rare earths project, which Beinke says needs A$178 million to reach production.
