Australian Rare Earths (AR3) has reached a major milestone at its flagship Koppamurra project in Southeast SA, with engineering consultancy WGA supporting the project's advancement toward commercial readiness. Over four-plus years, WGA has worked closely with AR3 across exploration, metallurgical testwork, and flowsheet development, culminating in a completed Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) in 2026.

Key achievements include over 200 leach tests across 12+ processing technologies to guide process selection, scaled-up test operations aligned with commercial objectives, and development of a robust processing flowsheet supported by detailed mass, metal, and water balances. AR3 also benefited from financial modelling support, including capex/opex estimates and NPV scenario analysis, underpinning its investment roadmap, along with data infrastructure such as real-time dashboards and automated QC systems for drill program data.

WGA has acted as a key integrator between AR3, BML Laboratories, and ANSTO throughout the project, enabling AR3 to move faster and with greater confidence. This partnership has positioned AR3 to unlock the full potential of Koppamurra and lay the groundwork for Australia's rare earths future.
